Business in Dublin started with a simple, slightly annoying problem: it’s genuinely hard to find out where’s good. Between gamed star-ratings, sponsored “top tens” and the same five places recycled by every listicle, the honest answer gets buried.
So we made the guide we wanted to read. We’re a small, Dublin-based editorial team that eats, drinks and spends time in the city, then writes plainly about the places worth your time and money. Every list is ranked, every ranking is earned, and none of it is for sale.
What we cover
Six lanes, one city. Food, drink, coffee, culture, grooming and the home trades you actually need. If it’s part of living well in Dublin, it belongs in a guide.
- Food & Drink — restaurants, brunch and the tables worth booking
- Bars & Nightlife — proper pubs, snugs and cocktail rooms
- Cafés & Coffee — the roasters and rooms worth the detour
- Things to Do — landmarks, museums and proper days out
- Health & Beauty — barbers, salons and studios
- Home & Trades — vetted plumbers, electricians and local pros
The people behind it
We publish under one masthead rather than chasing bylines, but there are real people doing the walking.
Aoife Nolan — Editor
Raised in Drumcondra, fed in every neighbourhood since. Aoife sets the guides, does most of the eating and referees the arguments about who deserves the number-one spot.
Cian Doyle — Deputy editor & listings
Keeps the guides honest and current, checks the details that trip people up (opening hours, cash-only, booking-only) and looks after the home-trades vetting.
We also work with a small circle of Dublin contributors who know their patch — from Stoneybatter to Dún Laoghaire — because no one team drinks in every local.
We never charge a business for a place on a list, and we never let anyone see a ranking before it’s published. When we make money, it’s kept completely separate from what we recommend. Here’s exactly how that works.
Say hello
Think we’ve missed somewhere brilliant, or spotted something out of date? We genuinely want to hear it.
